Wedding 1

We knew Davey and Cath's wedding weekend would be wonderful but there were so many delightful surprises too.......

Saturday was HUGE (for us anyway) - saying goodbye to Islington, picking up the people mover from Heathrow, driving in fairly thick Bank Holiday traffic to Dorchester in SW England.....finding West County Hall..meeting up with family.....organising the right clothes...in time for Davey and Cath's Civil Ceremony at 4.00pm.........

Davey was there to greet us....

And Eddie was happy that someone had remembered to bring "my ball".

An attempt was made to convince him to be an observer for this ceremony....

......but seeing his Mummy and Daddy like this.....

was too good an opportunity to miss.....

...while Davey and Cath are finally, officially, married.

In Dorset, the marriage certificate is presented to the bride.....

From Dorchester we all drove the 40 minutes or so along the beautiful Jurassic coast with its setting of patchwork rolling fields in every shade of rich verdant green - to Lyme Regis. We quickly unloaded as much as we could at The Lodge on Silver Street, before making our way to the Alexandra Hotel for a celebratory drink with the family and a few close friends of Davey and Cath's.

The hotel lawns front Lyme Bay - a spectacular setting and a wonderful playground for the kids (and bigger people) to let off some steam.

We may never see Pete and Joel playing croquet again!

As the "official" (and legal part) ceremony and the prelude to the big day tomorrow it could not have been a more happy, relaxed and beautiful Wedding 1.

Everyone is talking about the amazing weather - some rain had been predicted today - instead it was perfect!
